About

WiTT partners with MTSU, Lipscomb University, Belmont University, and Tennessee State University to provide mentors to female students in their technology related programs. WiTT volunteers help these students learn about the many career options in technology and support them along their academic journey and beyond.


FAQ's

What's the time commitment?

The program kicks off in October after the college semester begins and ends when final exams start, around April. There will be a mix of formal events organized by WiTT and one-on-one mentoring sessions. Mentors and mentees are free to continue meeting beyond that timeframe if desired (in fact, we're hoping you will!).

Who is eligible to participate?

Mentor eligibility:

  • Women and men working in technology-related professional, management, and executive positions
  • Active participants and supporters of WiTT
  • Individuals willing and able to commit to the program for its duration

Mentees eligibility:

  • College students looking to learn about and enter into technology-related careers
  • Individuals willing and able to commit to the program for its duration
What does success look like?

A successful mentor program provides opportunities to...

  • Explore what advancement for women in the IT industry looks like
  • Gain an experienced technology practitioner's perspective on applying leadership concepts to real life situations

How will mentors and mentees be matched?

Both mentors and mentees will submit applications. WiTT will review the applications and make matches based upon similarities in backgrounds and career interests/aspirations.
