Jobs and careers in STEM are well-paying and rewarding, yet women continue to be underrepresented in the science, technology, engineering, and math workforce.

Women in Technology in Tennessee, Adventure Science Center, Asurion and a number of other local organizations want to ensure that young women are ready to step into the nearly 1 million new STEM jobs that will be available across the country by 2022.

One part of their effort is TWISTER, a day-long seminar (held at Adventure Science Center on Saturday, Feb. 13) that pairs high school girls with women who have achieved success in STEM fields. Asurion and WiTT are awarding two college scholarships at the event. The application deadline has been extended until Feb. 3.

Let us know if you’d like to talk to someone with Asurion or WiTT about:
     - The need for women in tech jobs
     - How TWISTER events have positively impacted young women
     - The scholarship opportunities available and how to apply
     - How young women can register to attend TWISTER
